Dr. Alissa Long is an Optometrist whose expertise encompasses a variety of eye conditions and abnormalities, as well as vision concerns. She is dedicated to ensuring each and every patient receives the best personalized care and results possible.
Dr. Long’s educational journey:
- Began her higher education as a Presidential Scholar on full scholarship at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa during this program.
- Continued her journey to Optometry school at Doane College, in Crete, NE, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology.
- Jumpstarted her career in Optometry, by obtaining a position in private practice first an Optician, then advancing to Technician, for several years during her undergraduate degree programs.
- Received her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Long’s personable care and seasoned experience lends to her ability to tailored yet comprehensive attention for her patients. “I truly enjoy all aspects of Optometry, and value improving patient lives through visual function,” Dr. Long says. She is also trained in offering OptiLight treatment, a proven way to alleviate symptoms from Dry Eye Disease.
Dr. Long’s professional affiliations are a testament to her ongoing passion for Optometry. She is a proud member of the American Optometric Association and the Delaware Optometric Association, where she is slated to become President-Elect in March 2025.
She prizes quality time with her family and dog, Sancho. Cooking and baking with her daughter are her favorite activities, along with spending time outdoors.
