What is Upneeq?
Upneeq is an FDA-approved prescription eye drop for lifting drooping eyelids (ptosis). Upneeq’s active ingredient is oxymetazoline hydrochloride which triggers the levator muscle in the upper eyelid to contract and raise the lid, opening up your eyes.
Who is a Good Candidate for Upneeq?
If you have mild to severe eyelid ptosis (sagging), you may be an ideal candidate for Upneeq treatment. Upneeq should be avoided if you’re taking any medications that could interfere with it, including beta-blockers, medications for hypertension, and MAOIs.
What to Expect From Upneeq Treatment
Upneeq comes as an eye drop that is easy to administer right from the convenience of your own home. You’ll want to apply one eye drop to one or both eyes daily. If you wear contact lenses, you’ll want to remove them before applying the eye drops.
